Gestalt Mind

Once ’round the randomness

I still haven’t been playing really.  I logged on last night and spent about an hour working my armorsmith.  He’s now about 20% away from hitting level 40.

I am alternating between a lack of time and a lack of desire right now.  It isn’t a bad thing though.  We all need breaks.  It just probably makes for boring reading when I’m not really doing much of anything on anything.  Things should settle a bit in a couple of weeks.

At the end of this week, my friend who moved in temporarily after his divorce should be moving away.  He landed a job back in our hometown.  He’s had training here last week and this week, but the training ends on Friday.  He starts working there on Monday.  Once he’s out of the apartment, it will be much easier to play.  When he’s there, he interrupts me far too frequently for me to actually be able to accomplish anything.  Again, not necessarily a bad thing as it is nice to do something different from time to time.  Still, I’ve been missing my friends and my characters the last few days and I’m ready to start playing again.

Next week, I’ll be gone for most of the week on a work trip.  It will be an 1800 mile round trip drive through some of the most desolate areas known to man.  Maybe I’ll take my camera along and snap some pictures of scrub brush and cow shit to post to the site.  If the hotels I’ll be staying in have reached the level of technology to have internet yet, I’ll be able to post some in the evenings about the fun-filled adventure.

I make it sound bad.  The scenery will suck and the towns I’ll be visiting are all small enough to fit inside a McDonalds, but I enjoy getting out on the road and driving.  Should be some good “relax and just think” time.

Last night, my first round of stuff that I’m throwing out on ebay ended.  In order to help my friend get back on his feet, I promised to give him half of anything that I raise.  In exchange, he is taking care of listing the items, sending out invoices, and shipping the stuff out.  He’s maintained an ebay store for several years, so he has good feedback reputation and knows the system far better than I care to.

Even with splitting the money with him, the first round of sales raised nearly enough money for me to go to Fan Faire this year if I still want to go when the time comes around.  I’m going to just put the money aside for now and hold it against that purpose.  It will be much nicer to already have the money set aside than trying to frantically raise it at the last moment.

Hopefully, the next round will finish off the amount of money I want set aside for that event plus have a little left over to go towards some bills.

I still haven’t quite talked myself into selling either of my guitars.  I keep waffling on that.  I think I might dig them out and play around with them some tonight.  Maybe having them in my hands again will help me decide.
